Get your reports, comment library, and template out of InspectorKit as files you keep, because owned software means owned data.

A promise you cannot verify is just marketing. InspectorKit's pitch has always been that you own your tool and your data, so here is the concrete version of that. Every category of thing you build has a way out.
Your reports
Every published report has a Print / PDF button on its web view. That produces a complete, print-tuned document with your branding, the summary, every finding, and every annotated photo. Save one for your records whenever you close out a job, or pull one three years later when a callback question arrives. The publish guide covers where the button lives.
Your comment library
The Library page has an Export PDF button in the header. It produces a lettered document with your business name at the top and every narrative grouped by category, condition labels included. Starter pack entries appear alongside your own, each marked.
The file is worth generating even if you never plan to leave. It reads as the style guide for your reports, and inspectors who print one tend to spot their own gaps within a page or two of scanning the collection they have built.
Your template
Same pattern. The template editor header has an Export PDF button that prints your full structure with numbered sections and items, helper text included. It doubles as a walk-order checklist and as documentation of your process, which some insurance carriers genuinely appreciate seeing.
A quarterly habit worth having
Set a reminder for the first Monday of each quarter. Export the library, export the template, and drop both PDFs in the same folder as your report copies. Ten minutes a year, and your business has an off-platform backup of everything that makes your reports yours, no matter what happens to any software company, including this one.
Why this page exists
Subscription software holds data hostage by default, sometimes deliberately and sometimes just through neglect. Either way, the day you stop paying is the day your years of work gets awkward to reach.
I built the exports before building several features that would have been more fun, because leaving has to be a real option for staying to mean anything. Take a full export today and put the files in a drawer. Knowing you can is the point.
Common questions
Do exports cost anything or require a specific plan?
No. Every account can export everything at any time. Gating your own data behind a plan tier is exactly the behavior this product exists to oppose.
What format do exports come in?
PDF, generated through your browser's print dialog. Every browser saves to PDF, the files open everywhere, and they remain readable in twenty years.
Can I get my raw photos out?
Photos appear in each report's PDF with their annotations. For original files, your camera roll holds anything you shot on your phone, and any specific originals you need from the app can be pulled on request through support.
