Frequently asked questions
The questions inspectors actually ask before and after buying InspectorKit, answered plainly by the founder.
By Owen Murray, founder of InspectorKit · Updated July 10, 2026
Short answers to the questions that show up in my inbox most. Anything missing, email and it gets added.

Is it really one payment?
Yes. The core tool is a single purchase with no renewal. The full breakdown of what it covers lives on the billing and plans page, and the short version is everything an inspector needs to build, publish, and deliver reports.
How can I evaluate it before buying?
Start with the complete published sample report and inspect the same web and PDF experience a client receives. If the workflow still raises a question, email support and ask the founder directly. After purchase, the practice house teaches the builder with real findings, and the 365-day money-back guarantee gives you time to decide from actual work.
Does it work offline?
Basements, crawlspaces, and no-signal rural jobs are exactly the environments it was built around. Every edit saves to your phone first and syncs itself later. The two moments that need signal are creating a report and publishing one, both of which happen in the driveway anyway.
Will my reports look professional?
Look for yourself before believing me. The sample report on the site is a real InspectorKit report, summary page, annotated photos, branding and all. Your reports carry your logo and license, never mine, and never anyone's advertising.
What if I have years of templates and comments elsewhere?
Two paths. The paste importer moves a comment collection in minutes and the template editor rebuilds your structure in an evening. Or the Done-For-You setup takes whatever export your old software produces and hands you back a configured account. Your work is also never stuck here, because everything exports whenever you want it.
What is the refund policy?
Three hundred sixty-five days, every penny, by email. Take it to real inspections first, because a decision made on actual work beats one made from a landing page. If it does not earn its place within the first year, say so and get your money back.
Do clients and agents need anything to read my report?
No. The share link opens in any browser on any device with nothing to install and no account to create. Agents forward it, lenders open it, buyers read it on their phones at dinner. The Print / PDF button on the same page covers anyone who wants a file copy.
How do I start?
The first report walkthrough is genuinely ten minutes. Everything else, this help center covers, and everything the help center misses, my inbox does.
Common questions
Is InspectorKit really run by one person?
Yes. I build the product, answer support, and write these docs. You are never talking to a tier-one script, which cuts both ways. Answers are direct, and occasionally they take a few hours because I was in the code.
What happens to InspectorKit if something happens to you?
Fair question to ask any small vendor. Your protection is structural. Reports export as PDFs, your library and template export as documents, and those files live with you. Take exports quarterly and no software company, including this one, holds your business hostage.
Do you have a mobile app in the app store?
InspectorKit runs in the browser and installs to your home screen like an app, which means updates land instantly and nothing waits on app store review. On site it works one-handed on a phone, offline included.
