Adding a second inspector
How team seats work, what an invited inspector can and cannot do, and how to remove access when someone moves on.

InspectorKit is built for solo inspectors first, and the team feature reflects that. It exists for the day your one-person shop becomes a two-person shop, without dragging you into enterprise software territory.
How seats work
A seat is an add-on on the Billing page, priced monthly because an active second user carries real ongoing cost. Buy a seat and the Team page in Settings lets you invite an inspector by email. They get an invitation link, create their login, and land inside your business workspace.
Seats are about capacity, not identity. If an inspector leaves and another joins, remove one and invite the other. The seat stays, the people change.
What a team member gets
The full field toolkit. They create inspections, build reports with the shared comment library, shoot and annotate photos, publish, and send reports to clients. Their published work carries the business branding, so clients see one company regardless of who walked the house.
What they do not get is control of the business itself. Billing, branding, template structure, and team management stay with the owner. The tool assumes the business has one owner and however many inspectors, which matches how small shops actually run.
Removing access
The Team page lists members with a remove action next to each. Removal is immediate and does not touch any historical work. Reports built by a removed member remain your business's reports, published links keep working, and clients notice nothing.
Invitations you have sent but nobody accepted can be revoked from the same page, which covers the typo-in-the-email case and the hire that fell through.
Caps and costs, shared
The business's monthly report allowance is shared across everyone on the team rather than counted per person, which is the generous direction for a two-person shop. The seat itself bills monthly from the Billing page and cancels the same way, effective immediately, with no notice period games.
Whether you need this at all
Most owners never open the Team page, and that is by design. A seat makes sense when a second person regularly builds reports under your brand. For an occasional helper, many owners just do the final review and publish from their own account instead. The add-on is there when the volume says so.
Common questions
Do team members see all inspections or just their own?
The business shares one workspace. Everyone on the team sees the business's inspections, which is what makes handoffs and callback coverage workable.
Can a team member change my template or library?
Template structure stays owner-only. The comment library is shared for inserting, and comments a team member saves join the shared collection, which in practice keeps report language consistent across the team.
What happens when I remove a member?
Their access ends immediately. Every report they built stays with the business, because the work belongs to the company, not the login.
